I. Fair Preface
As an important transportation hub on “The Belt and Road”, Shandong enjoys an advantageous geographical location, with the Huanghai Sea and the Bohai Sea to the east and the hinterland of the Central Plains on the west. Shandong is a major economic province, a major cultural province and a populous province, as well as a major province of food and drinks production and consumption in the eastern coastal area of China. With the excellent investment environment and the huge market potential, Shandong has attracted many domestic and foreign merchants to invest here. It is known in the industry that “The merchant who gets popular in Jinan will get popular in Shandong, and who gets popular in Shandong will get popular in the world”. The Shandong International Food & Drinks Fair, which has been committed to developing the Qilu market for 12 years, is held in Jinan in November each year. As the fair scale and the number of exhibitors and professional visitors, especially the overseas exhibition groups and domestic urban exhibition group, are increasing year by year, it is hard to get a booth in a part of exhibition halls. According to the questionnaire about exhibitors taking part in the 2017 Fair, 92% of all exhibitors were satisfied with the fruitful outcome, as accurate and efficient matching of exhibitors and professional merchants has been realized, an important trading platform for the development of multi-level markets for all types of enterprises has been built and the booming development of China’s food & drinks industry has been greatly boosted.

II. Fair Information
Dates: November 16 to 18, 2018 (fair arrangement on November 14 and 15)
Place: Jinan International Convention and Exhibition Center, China (No.1 Huizhan Road, Jinan High-tech Zone)

Purpose: keep a foothold in the market, be geared to the needs of international markets, and serve the industry
III. Scope of exhibits
(I) Foods: meat products, dairy products, condiments, snack foods, health foods, instant foods, health supplements, frozen foods, canned products, bee products and various imported foods.
(II) Wines: white spirits, beers, Chinese rice wines, fruit wines, rice wines, red wines, health care wines and various imported wines.
(III) Beverages: drinking water, coffee, cold drinks, syrups, carbonated beverage, dairy drinks, and various functional beverages.
(IV) Packaging machinery and equipment: packaging technologies and equipment, foods and drinks production and processing technologies and equipment, refrigeration and cold storage equipment, handling and logistics equipment, code-spraying, labeling, sealing and other packaging and mechanical equipment.
IV. History Review
For the 11th Shandong International Food & Drinks Fair held in 2017, the actual exhibition area was 42,000 square meters; the number of the professional visitors was more than 60,000; and the number of the exhibitors was 1,124, occupying 1,465 international standard booths, which was a 8.9% increase compared with that in 2016. During the three-day exhibition, there were crowded merchants and huge trading volumes. The Fair brought together many famous domestic white spirits brands such as Moutai, Luzhoulaojiao, Xijiu, Guotai, Fenjiu, and Liuyanghe. The Fair also promoted well-known local white spirits brands such as Baimaiquan, Baotuquan etc. In addition, the Fair attracted Chinese well-known food import and export companies and leading food manufacturers, such as COFCO, CP Group, Wondersun, Daliyuan, etc. Besides, many domestic and foreign famous-brand manufacturers such as FLASQ (USA), Baarsma (Netherlands), LISELOTTE, Saint Touse etc. also appeared in the Fair, which attracted many overseas professional purchasers. The domestic urban exhibition groups consist of 306 companies from the 14 regions including Zunyi (Guizhou), Harbin (Heilongjiang), Shenyang (Liaoning), Yinchuan (Ningxia), Beihai (Guangxi), Guangyuan (Sichuan), Dazhou (Sichuan), Huai’an (Jiangsu), Xiangxi (Hunan), Erdos (Inner Mongolia), Yantai (Shandong) and Weifang (Shandong) etc., which were organized by the China-France Trade Promotion Association, Asia-Europe Trade Development Association and other international organizations, brought the latest products and the most promising investment and cooperation projects to the Fair, providing numerous business opportunities to the industry peers. During the Fair, Chinese and foreign exhibitors carried out various business cooperations and exchange activities, which made great achievements.
(I) Analysis on the exhibitors in the 2017 Fair
1. Statistics by region:
1) There were 137 overseas enterprises from 16 countries or regions, accounting for 12% of the total number of the enterprises taking part in the Fair;
2) There were 306 enterprises from 14 domestic urban exhibition groups, accounting for 27% of the total number of the enterprises taking part in the Fair;
3) There were 681 domestic high-quality enterprises from 21 provinces (cities), accounting for 61% of the total number of the enterprises taking part in the Fair;

517 food enterprises, accounting for 46% of the total number of the enterprises taking part in the Fair;
438 wine enterprises, accounting for 39% of the total number of the enterprises taking part in the Fair;
91 beverage enterprises, accounting for 8% of the total number of the enterprises taking part in the Fair;
57 packaging machinery and equipment enterprises, accounting for 5% of the total number of the enterprises taking part in the Fair;
21 enterprises of other categories, accounting for 2% of the total number of the enterprises taking part in the Fair;
